MSPO 2015

MSPO Expo

MSPO Expo is the largest showcase for new and future defence technology and it is the largest exhibition for the defence companies to display their land, sea and air capabilities at a single exhibition. With air and land platforms inside the exhibition halls, it provides the only trade show opportunity to berth so many warships immediately alongside the exhibition hall.

The International Defence Industry Exhibition is the most important exhibition of the defense industry in Europe and the third largest trade show on the Old Continent; ranked after Paris and London. This year, for the first time in the expo history, the exhibition area exceeded 25,000 sqm. The expo was the showcase for over 500 exhibitors from 27 countries of the world, including  Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands , Turkey, Ukraine, USA. It comes as no surprise that the number of visitors was also record breaking – Targi Kielce hosted 15,000  guests. Once again the MSPO was held under the auspices of the Republic of Poland President Bronislaw Komorowski.

The Expo programme encompassed almost 40 seminars and  congresses; they provide an ideal opportunity to exchange experiences, to expand knowledge about the latest military technology solutions, to establish contacts and relations as well as to hold talks between the defense industry, the armed forces and government administration.  The program of this year’s Expo induced:  the Kielce Security Conference –  the Conferences’ thematic scope included issues related to the situation in Ukraine, the Polish defense industry consolidation and the promotion of Polish technology abroad. Other seminars staged within the scope of MSPO: “Structural changes in the defense industry in Ukraine on its way to NATO”, organized by the NATO Liaison Office and the conference “Doing business with the army – a safe way to earn money.”

Purchase orders and contract conclusion have become an indispensable part of MSPO tradition. On the second day of the trade show MESKO SA signed the contract for the production and supply of Air Defence System Grom for the Lithuanian army; the document was signed in the presence of the Secretary of State in Poland’s MOS – Czeslaw Mroczek. Targi Kielce also entered into a contract – the exhibition and congress centre signed the two important agreements on cooperation for broadly defined security. The Framework Agreement and the Letter of Intent Parties are Polish Security Forum Foundation and the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security.
