Copenhagen Bike Show- The biggest bicycle event in Scandinavia

The premiere of Copenhagen Bike Show was a great success.

Exhibitors and visitors were very satisfied with the first Copenhagen Bike Show which was held in Copenhagen from 13 to 15 March 2015 and which attracted more than 10,000 visitors.

The sun was shining from a deep blue sky when Copenhagen Bike Show opened its doors for the first time Friday 13 March 2015. Over the weekend the cycling fever increased to high degrees in the old train workshop (Lokomotivværkstedet), which was filled up with all possible kinds of bicycle models. World class racing bikes. Custom-made mountain bikes. All terrain fat bikes. Electric cargo bikes. Streamlined velomobiles. Sustainable city bikes. Bright coloured kids’ bikes. And much more.

The dedicated cyclists were eager to buy. Many top racer bikes and mountain bikes were taken out of the hall during the weekend.

Also bicycle equipment and parts were in great demand. Tommy Christiansen from Fullcarbon.dk who sells carbon parts and wheel sets says:
“We are 100 % satisfied with the event. And of course it only makes it more fun that we have sold 10 times more than expected.”

A lot of people were testing bicycles on the big test track in the “Kedelhal”, in particular electric bikes and family bikes. The electric family bikes from Babboe and the new invention of the children’s side bike from Scandinavian Side Bike had huge success.

“There has been an amazing interest for our children’s side bike. It has been in use non-stop over the weekend on the test track”, says Torben Skov Andersen from Scandinavian Side Bike.

The unique and hand built fat bike from Maskinen Bikes was also very popular. Many people gave it a go on the mountain bike track, which took riders downhill into a grave, which had historically been used when repairing locomotives.

“The Show was really great. Dozens of people tried the Machine. We are very grateful. It was awesome”, says Miguel Antonetti from Maskinen Bikes.

As expected the kids could spend hours at the children’s bicycle track where children in all ages were training precision and balance or in the drawing workshop where the kids delivered artistic helmet designs.

After the successful start for Copenhagen Bike Show the organiser Christian Ritter is convinced about his ambitions for the event.

“I am very pleased with the high number of visitors and the positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors. Right now we are evaluating the weekend and I can promise already now that there will be more activities and entertainment for both adults and children next year. After the success this year I am confident that there will be an even bigger selection of the newest bicycles and gear next year,” says Christian Ritter, and adds:

“It is still my ambition that Copenhagen Bike Show shall expand the status as the biggest bicycle exhibition in Scandinavia.”
